The Dead Arm Shiraz 2005 from d’Arenberg is a stunning wine fashioned from ancient head-pruned vines. It was aged for 22 months in a mix of new and used French and American oak. An inky, purple color is accompanied by a glorious perfume of blueberry, pepper and smoke and flavors of blackberry, tar and spice. This deep, rich, full-bodied Shiraz is ready to drink now and could also benefit from 3 to 5 years of cellaring.
